Description: Mamluks are often filled with an array of smaller geometric motifs, surrounding a central star medallion, this produces a kaleidoscope appearance. There is debate as to the origins of the Mamluk pattern. Most scholars attribute Egypt as the original Mamluk inventor, albeit having later Persian and Turkish influences. Mamluks tend to use wool with high oil content to create a soft touch and easy to clean surface.
